When I launched Caribbean Culinary Tours in 2004 in my apartment in Coral Spring FL there was not much information available for a start-up like mine. I spent hours on the Internet researching every information that I could find about hosting culinary vacations, Tours, cooking classes, team cooking events and more.
To say that it was easy would be an understatement, it was Hard! What I have learned along the way I would love to share with you and help make your launch much easier than mine was.

Over the years I have got numerous request for Caribbean Cooking classes some of which I had to pass up on because it was difficult to find a local cook to host these guest. Just a few weeks ago I got contacted by some travelers traveling to St Kitts and Nevis who wanted to join a local lobster dish cooking class, Guess what? after much search with some local island contacts I am sad to say I could not find one local cook to host them.It’s my dream to help other local cooks host guest in their homes to share their local culinary culture. Travelers’ traveling to your island wants to learn more about your local flavors, cooking techniques and your way of life through a culinary experience. Maybe your idea is not a cooking class, there are so many ways that local chefs and cooks alike can share their culinary gifts to the tourism market. Such as local food Tours, Cooking Booklets or Guides, Beach Cookouts, Specialty Cakes, Drinks, or Candies made for the tourism market. Catering for, Destination Weddings or Honeymooners who want menus featuring local dishes, Corporate Team building events, Farmers market culinary events and more.
How do you take your culinary dream to the tourism market? I jumped in cold feet I did not know what I was doing completely I had an idea and just Jumped right in. But I can honestly say, I have learned so much along the way but it would have been easier if I had a guide, coach or someone who did it before.With my jumping in I am proud to say with uttermost humility that I have published Two Cookbooks, A Culinary Food Guide, Was a Guest Chef on Holland American Cruise Ships, I am In the Process of Launching my utube channel Breaking Bread with Freda. Host Guest in Cooking Classes and Cooking Vacations on a number of Caribbean Islands. Hosted Corporate Groups in Team building Cooking Classes. Be a personal chef to high profile guests, we have also been featured in some US, Canada and Caribbean Magazines and Newspapers.Now I have a Dream and my Dream is to give back and help others use their God given gift of Cooking to share with pride with visitors to their islands, while building themselves financially and their communities
